This review is more about the old congressional bunker that we toured when we visited, which was awesome. Unfortunately you can't take any kind of pictures when touring the bunker. Of course the Greenbrier itself is awesome as you would expect from a 5 Star resort. This is an older resort and you can practically feel the history. A bit older, 59, and this place is like a trough back to the big band era. Of course being a 5 Star resort they have enough activities (300+), most of which cost extra, that you'd never need to leave the place for your entire stay. On last interesting fact is that the resort sits on 8000 acres.

A beautiful hotel with very nice staff. We only joined a guest for dinner in the main dining room so can't speak of the bedrooms, but the areas we did see were all clean and very well kept. Dinner was really fabulous (though portions a little small for the price). I was a fan of the live piano playing. Overall a lovely experience and we hope to visit again someday.

Such a beautiful resort! We went for a trip around the New Year and everything was decorated beautifully. There are so many things to do. We went on a bunker tour and the Jeep driving experience. We ate in many different restaurants on the property and everything was excellent. It was also fun wandering around the property and checking out some of the artists' shops.

The Greenbrier is an amazing resort with a huge list of activities. The level of service is superb and consistent. The only reason I can't give it 5 stars is price. Its understandable that certain costs are needed for a resort of this caliber and for the historic preservation, however, some things are ridiculously overpriced like a bottle of water $4. The resort should think about what things they can provide a good value on while still meeting margins. Whatever you do, do not miss the Bunker tour while you're here.

The service here is incredible and there are so many fun things to do... But the reasons for my 3 stars is the price and the food. Nothing here is free, and everything is so expensive. A one hour activity for two people was over $400... It was insane. The spa service I received was the worst massage I ever had, also over $400... For being such a nice place, the food here is very poor. The best meal we had was at Prime 44, for two people and that was almost $400. I just expected better for how expensive everything was...
