The hotel was very nice overall. They have a great restaurant in the basement and a casino on the main floor, with rooms above. We stayed on the 2nd floor and there was a veranda with a bar overlooking main street. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable and a/c worked well, yet still historic. I was disappointed that the pictures showed a clawfoot tub and we didn't get one. My only real complaint would be no coffee maker in the room. We enjoyed our stay!

Ate dinner tonight at the bar. Other than slow service from a very busy bar tender...this place has AWESOME food! Had the prime rib which is a legend itself. I had bad luck with places in Deadwood during my stay so far, but this place was so good. The prime rib was cooked perfectly with all the right stuff. Potatoes were delicious. I had the best Cesar salad I have ever had as well. WELL RECOMMENDED

We did not room here but ate at both the buffet and Legends. The buffet was a great value and I'd recommend for anyone looking for a dinner to please a group. The steakhouse, Legends, however was WONDERFUL. Best meal I have had in a long time and generous portions. Thanks for the great service, Alex!

The buffet was excellent. They had this dish that was like green bean casserole, except they used Brussels sprouts instead of green beans. It was so good. One of the best things I've tasted in a while.

Really wanted to like it! Love history and old buildings. I have no problem giving up comforts for historic charm. Unfortunately could not keep hot water in our suite, old brick was half covered up, windowsills needed repair. Though they did have little heaters in the each room of the suite, so the draft did not bother you. Beds weren't the worst- worst amazing either. I'd give it 4 stars if we would of just stayed in the $20 rooms. Location is great and value would be there, but we paid for the largest suite. Furniture in the room was nothing nice or special. The old halls were cool, but slightly concerning as you started looking closer. Love the old building but wish some of the love and grander of the first floor traveled upstairs. If you are going to stay- stay for the cheap rooms, the suite wasn't worth it. Gal and bell hop we had in the evening checking in were great, gal that checked us out in the AM couldn't give two hoots.
