I have stayed at this Marriott property on several occasions. Because of the friendly staff, the Renaissance Santo Domingo Jaraqua Hotel & Casino team made me feel at home, away from home. Many people get caught up in the property itself and the amenities when they stay at hotels, which are all nice at this hotel. You can look at the photos on Marriott.com and see them. But the most priceless asset is the staff who make your stay remarkable. There is an old saying that a house is not a home without people to enjoy it. The team at the Renaissance goes above and beyond to make sure your stay is perfect.
From the time you arrive at the hotel, the bellmen greet you with a smile and handshake. They assist you with your luggage and even ask how your day and flight were. Then they escort you to the front desk staff who extend handshakes, and certain ones who remember you offer a friendly hug with a big smile. They welcome you and seem so excited that you choose their hotel once again and tell you how happy they are to see you. The concierge even walks over to greet and welcome you back to the hotel.
As the bellman helps you with the luggage to the room, they engage you more in additional conversation. When you walk to the elevator, security greets you and extends a hand of welcome while he makes sure only guests can access the rooms. That gives me a wonderful sense of comfort. As you walk by, if the housekeepers are by the doorway, they speak and acknowledge you. Even when they come to service your room, they have a smile on their face and go out their way to make sure your room is cleaned and stocked to your approval and always ask if you require anything else to make your stay memorable. I always ask for my favorite housekeeper when I visit from the first impression during my first stay.
But excellent customer service does not stop there. I must always stop by the gift shop. The staff remember me and welcome me with a smile, chats with me, and is eager to assist. The same goes for the young lady and man who works at the sandwich shop to sell drinks, sandwiches, salads, the best ice cream cones, and my favorite chocolate cake. Then you have the staff at the pool bar, which is ready to give you the best recommendation for drinks and food. They always remember my favorite drink. They make sure I have clean towels for the pool.
When I visit the restaurant, the servers and bartenders keep the momentum going with the service provided. There is one server that I look for each time I come because we go over the latest NBA or College games. And he always remembers to ask how well my godson is playing in college this season. When I want something to eat in the evening, I call the phone operator, and they are always accommodating. I never met them in person, but they always say they welcome me back and hope that I am enjoying my stay. The room service brings the food promptly and hot cheerfully and always with a smile. They even went out there a way to warm up some food I had early from the restaurant.
And to top it all off, if you have a chance, make sure you take time to indulge yourself at the spa. Spoil yourself with a spa day complete with a manicure, pedicure, facial, and massage. The staff will ensure you relax your mind and body.
One thing that impresses me the most was that all the staff could address me by my name. And It was not only me. I watched how they interacted with other guests. And they give them the same royal treatment that I received, and that is commendable.
