Every time I visit Obihiro, I make it to this place to see beautiful horses, hoping they will keep this business long as they can. In the same area in a different building they sell foods....fresh from the local field, good for souvenirs,too.

Amazing! The size and power of the horses here are awe inspiring. There is a section at the side where you can admire some of these beasts up close and feed them carrots. They also had what looked to be ponies or hokkaidan horses.

I really interesting way of horse racing using Clydesdale horses pulling approximately 1 tonne of concrete blocks behind them over 5 Mounds of Earth. The track is not very long maybe 500 m but the excitement is very addictive

It is the Farmer Market that selling local fresh veggies and fresh fruits and those snacks and etc that made by the local products and selling at reasonable price that are the highlight to go to the Horse Racing Place. Unless you are interested in betting or else nothing to attract except seeing few real horses with its riders.
The little cafe also good to take a rest before taking a bus back to the JR station.
