This was our second stay at Monarch casino. It is very clean and luxurious, but they struggle with hiring good people Who understand customer service and know what they are doing. The website originally said check-in was at 3 o'clock. We arrived at 1:30 so that I could enjoy the pool and hot tub before checking in. I went down at 4 o'clock and the line was insane. I asked if our room was ready and was told no it would be ready shortly and that they would call us. Went to dinner... They never called. Went to the lobby a third time at 5 finally received our key. Unfortunately we went to the room, opened the door and found it was occupied by stay over guests. The woman at the counter gave us the wrong keys... By the time all of this was figured out it was now 530...2 1/2 hours after promised to check in. To top it off, no cell phone reception whatsoever... Could not make any outgoing calls and could not communicate with my husband he was on the casino floor. Very stressful stay and most likely will not return here.

The actual hotel is lovely. Updated amenities and clean. I would give the customer service 1 star. The person who checked us in gave no guidance on the hotel or elevators, the server at the restaurant "twenty-four 7" was possibly the worst server I have ever experienced. The buffet was very tasty and lots of variety, we really enjoyed it. Our server at the buffet was kind and attentive. The room was very nice, beautiful bathroom and finishes. The air conditioning clearly didn't work, the temperature never dropped below 72 degrees despite setting it several times to a cooler temperature. If the service had been adequate I would have given it more stars.

What a delight!
I couldn't wait to see the new rooms and new deck top pool/exercise/spa area. I was definitely surprised at how modern and well designed it all was. 3 hot tubs and a long pool and all a combo of salt water and chlorine which is easier on the skin. A beautiful wrap around outdoor lounge area. An oasis only an hour away from home. Body is relaxed and can't wait to book my next relaxing moment.

Extremely helpful staff. Love the game variety. New, old school, different, unique. It would be hard not to find the type of game you like. Parking garage is amazing. I know that sounds weird, but genius to identify the open spaces with the lighting.

Hubby excited to see the poker rooms. After what they've done with the gaming hall, can't wait to see the spin they put to make their draw to play poker there the best.

The one thing I would critique is the placement of the voucher redemption machines. They all seemed to be in too high traffic and in short supply for the number of guests using them. It would be nice to see a few more promotional kiosks.

Lastly, didn't see any there, but if they don't have them I think the player card do it yourself printing machines are a must have. One of their competitors has one and I love it.

With that said, had a blast at Monarch !!! Newly remodeled, clean and loads of fun !!!

The casino floor is huge and has a decent selection of machines. Table games are nice, but minimum betting is steep. Not everyone is able to bet such high minimums and just want to enjoy playing. Hotel room was awesome. The beds are comfortable and the room was quiet and was easy to get a great night's sleep. The food experience is where it falls short. The "chef inspired" food everywhere doesn't leave any simpler choices. The buffet costing $44 is outrageous. Not everyone wants the lobster and crab but just want a typical buffet and salad bar experience. To charge that much is a deal breaker. I took my elderly parents and they couldn't eat $44 worth of food between them. I'm not sure I could eat $44 worth of food either. Even the 24/7 bistro was extremely expensive. To have 3 people eat (two had burgers and one had soup) and pay $68 is crazy. Sorry, there is NO burger worth that. Overall enjoyed the stay and the play but you need to have a lot of cash on hand just to eat and sleep.
