This resort had an amazing atmosphere, and seemed to have lots of cool amenities. However, you don't realize till you get there that a majority of these things are closed, and full vaccinated customers are still required to wear a mask around the resort, including the outdoor pool. If you want to go to a resort to enjoy a day at restaurants and a pool, I wouldn't recommend staying here while they still require fully vaccinated paying customers to wear a mask. Studies have shown that the virus does not spread very much in outdoor places, and the CDC has stated months ago that fully vaccinated people are highly unlikely to carry the virus. Businesses that still require masks are discouraging some people to get vaccinated, as they feel like there's no point in getting vaccinated if they still have to wear a mask.

For the prices they charge and for being a "resort", we were very disappointed. Videos and stickers re sanitizing efforts are a lie. The sanitizing label on door just peeled away from wall, so room could've been re-entered after it was supposed to have been cleaned. Our headboards were coated in dust, dust bunnies stuck onto walls & something spilled on side of table was left with sticky residue, the fridge interior was filthy. We wiped it and the handles and doorknobs with our own Lysol wipes and they were all dirty! There were hairs in the tub and sink and black things on the white towels when we initially walked into bathroom. I tried to wipe the coat of grime off the door and the paint came off along with the dirt. A cigarette butt was on the balcony but manager at front desk the first night told my partner no smoking was allowed on the premises except outside the front, yet there were ashtrays filled with cigarette butts in patio near the pool. The barista at the Starbucks was extremely rude! Only one of the other 3 eateries was open this morning and there was 1/2 hour wait. The only positive things to say is the doormen were pleasant and the food served for the wedding reception was good and THOSE servers were efficient, respectful and organized. The bedding and mattresses were clean, no bedbugs in seams. Not recommended.

The staff is very polite and professional. The rooms were clean and orderly and at a comfortable temperature upon arrival. The two main restaurants were understaffed and the service was slow; but the deli downstairs, in the casino area, was on point and had excellent service. Overall, Buffalo Thunder Casino Resort is an excellent place to stay for business or leisure trips.

My husband & I have been on a two week road trip across the USA, post-covid. We have not been required to wear a mask from Wyoming, Colorado, Utah, Idaho or Texas but upon arriving at this hotel, masks were required at all times. That was a disappointment and not noted on their website. The positives for the hotel are that the rooms are comfortable and the hotel appears nice and clean. BUT if you have come here to enjoy the casino, you may wish to skip this destination. The website has not been updated. My husband LOVES to play poker, which is why he chose this destination and hotel. It states there is a poker room, but there is not. They have closed it down. There are hardly any table games and judging by my attempt at slots, very little payoff. We both love to gamble so this will not be a destination we will return to. There are too many great casinos that pay decently and have ample table games.

Very nice place to stay when visiting Santa Fe. There was a city issue with the power and water when we checked in but they were great and took care of us. A few services are still not back but it was a great stay. Far enough from the center of the city but close enough to drive in. Highly recommend and will return.
