Terrible experience. No lights in our room worked, ceiling was dripping and toilet handle hardly worked. Not to mention the water never heated up no matter how long we waited and half the time came out brown. When it comes to the beach, it was kept pretty clean. Although it was irritating that the hotel allowed people to sell on the beach (we decided to go to an all-inclusive private beach hotel for a reason!) It was difficult to get towels when we needed them for the beach and having paid $40 to borrow them, it was difficult to get our money back as no one was staffed to help us. The food was awful. Buffet food cooked with the mindset of pushing it out like a factory and evidently gave me AND my husband food poisoning. The restaurant on the beach which is not included in the hotel's coverage of all-inclusive was terrible. I don't want to call it slow and to be honest I don't know what to even call it. We ordered our
drinks and I was the only one to receive it as my husband sat there waiting forty minutes for his mere water. We hadn't even ordered or anything. With our checkout time nearing, we decided to get up to pay because our waitress was no where in sight. When we got up to pay we were given a hard time. Overall, not a great experience.

Absolutely exquisite adventure and extraordinary experience!! Victor Polantes is amazingly wonderfully experienced and involved with the day to day operations of this beautifully sculptured and wonderfully manicured grounds!! I was treated like a very valued and special guest. I was absolutely blown away with my beautiful suite, that made me feel like a princess in my own dream come true!! Every detail was fabulously tended to. Absolutely amazing private love for this magical place!!! Every meal was more romantic and intimate with a new world experience every night!!!...want the best value for your best dreams come true. Then make every dream come true and stay in this universal amazing resort...I know you will return as much as I do!!!

It's a beautiful place. The vew is magnificent. But may be the pandemic has taken its toll on it. I'm sure they will spend some money on renovations. Bathrooms, furniture, structures and so on. I would have given 5 stars if I had gotten my money's worth. About US$550.00 for 2 nights and having to pay for dinner it's too much. Anyway, it's your call. Next time I'll stay in a Cabaña and dine out.

I haven't had a vacation for over 2 years. This was my first time in DR. This was a great experience. Staying at the Hamaca Beach resort was pleasant. Thomas at the guest information booth was very nice and helpful.
Willy at the lobby was so diplomatic at welcoming the guests to the hotel he fit that position so well he should be cloned.
Overall I will stay there again and looking forward to book my next vacation there soon.

This resort is not even worthy of 1 star. I have stayed at many many hotels and resorts as I travel more than average for work and leisure. This I must say was the worst I have experienced. The property has a lot of potential and being right on the beach is the only positive thing for this resort. Starting with the reception area where the cabinets are falling apart and old. To the dirty passageways to the rooms. I was assigned to a room which was absolutely disgusting. The odor of the room was horrendous. The bathtub was stained (dirty looking) and had mold. The beds appeared to be sinking in the middle. The cabinet which held the mini fridge was literally falling apart. Water stains on the ceiling. The view from the room was nice. We complained about the room and requested a refund as we were ready to leave and not stay there at all, however were told since we booked thru a 3rd party it was no refundable. We were "upgraded" to a better room which was slightly better but still dirty. I took pictures of it all. Do not waste your money staying here. We left immediately the next morning. The experience at this resort ruined my birthday. I would not recommend this place to anyone. I do feel bad for staff because they don't even know what to say about the state of this property. One staff tried to blame it on Covid but the state of this property did not happen in a year.
